Baseball Training (Winter Off-Season)

For most baseball players, the off-season is in full effect. This is the time when we work on correcting any imbalances that might have occurred during the fall season.

Baseball is a pattern overload sport, which means the same movements are repeated time after time throughout the season. For example, if you are a right-handed pitcher, you are constantly throwing with your right arm day after day, which will lead to a muscular imbalance in the body. If you do not address these muscular imbalances, it can lead to an injury or decreased overall performance level.

It is essential that I create a program specifically designed to meet the needs of each individual player. This will require us to correct any imbalances that might have occurred throughout the fall season. We must address the muscles that are high risks, such as the shoulder, scapula, upper back, hips, and lower body. We can correct these imbalances by building strength, power, and speed as well as increasing mobility. The correct programming will lead to a better overall level of performance going into the spring/summer season.
